Create a new Merchant Account
Merchant accounts are created by contacting us at https://telr.com/contact-us.
Add a new User to the Merchant Account
It is good practice to create a new account for anyone else who will be accessing the Admin system. Eg Accounts department to view reports, Web Developers integrating to Gateway, Customer Service department dealing with Customer queries.
- Login to the Admin System (top-right corner of www.telr.com)
- On the Home tab, click on Users->Add new user (left side of the page)
- Enter the details on the Add New User form.
- A registration email will be sent to the new user along with information on how they can set their password.
Contact Support
- If you have an queries about the system at any transactions you can create a ticket to contact our support team.
- Login to the Admin System (top-right corner of www.telr.com)
- On the Home tab go to Home -> Support tickets
- Enter the Subject and a brief description of the your query And click on the “ Add” button.
- You will receive an email confirmation for your ticket and it will also be listed under Home -> Support tickets in the Admin system.
- You will receive an email confirmation of the response from our admin team, and the response will also be listed under Home -> Support tickets in the Admin system.
Manage Users permissions
It is possible to control the access levels for individual Users. Eg. Accounts staff may not need access to the Payment Page configuration, whereas web development staff will. To change the permissions of one user. It is also possible to reset their password and Edit their User details.
- Login to the Admin System (top-right corner of www.telr.com)
- Go to the Home tab, Click on Users->Existing users
- Select a user by clicking on their name
- You can now do any of the following
- Send a Password reset email --> Click on the “Send Password reset” button
- Edit their User Details --> Click on the “Edit Details” button
- Change their permissions --> Click on the “Edit Permissions” button at the bottom of the page

Generate Test Transactions
Once the Secret Key has been set, it is possible to generate a test transaction.
- Login to the Admin System.
- Go to The Payment Page tab, and click on the Payment Page -> Generate transaction option.
- Enter the transaction Cost
- Select the currency from the dropdown list
- Enter an amount (only use numbers i.e. no currency symbols)
- Enter a Cart Id with some value to help identify the transaction in the reports later– eg todays date & test
- Enter a Description for this transaction eg, “this is a test transaction by [your name]”
- Click on the Make Payment button
- This will now redirect you to the payment pages
- Enter the following card details
- Card number 4000 0000 0000 0002
- CVV 123
- Expiry Jan next year
- The Browser page will now redirect to an authorisation page which will also display the transaction reference generated by the Payment Gateway.
- To demonstrate a declined transaction, use CVV value 321
Review Transactions
Review and manage transactions through the Admin System
- Login to the Admin System (top-right corner of www.telr.com)
- The most recent transactions are displayed on the Home tab when you login.
- Click on the transaction reference to view the transaction details of any one transaction
- Click on each through the subsections for details of the transaction
Transaction Search
It is possible to search for a transaction based on the Card Number, Cardholder email address or transaction reference. To search for a particular transaction
- Login to the Admin System (top-right corner of www.telr.com)
- Go to the Reports Tab and click on Reports -> Transaction Search
- Enter the Transaction Reference, Cardholder Email address or Card number and click on Search.
- All transactions matching the information entered will be returned, so it may be necessary to inspect each transaction to identify the correct one.
- Click on the transaction Reference to view individual transaction details.
Refund an Authorised Transaction
It is possible to refund either the full or partial value of any Authorised Sale.
- Login to the Admin System (top-right corner of www.telr.com)
- Search the transaction you want to refund
- When the transaction is identified, click on the transaction reference to view the transaction details
- Enter the amount to be refunded
- Click on the “Refund” button to process the transaction
Void an Authorised Transaction
Voiding a transaction is usually possible the on same working day the transaction was authorised. A Void cancels the transaction, so the funds are not taken from the Cardholder. Authorisation is not guaranteed for Void transactions, so it may be necessary to Refund if the attempt to Void is not successful.
- Login to the Admin System (top-right corner of www.telr.com)
- Search the transaction you want to Void
- When the transaction is identified, click on the transaction reference to view the transaction details
- Click on the “Void” button to process the transaction
Email Notifications
The Telr Gateway can send email notifications on
- Transactions Notifications
- Login to the Admin System (top-right corner of www.telr.com)
- Go to the Security tab
- Under the Transaction Notifications section
- Select “Test Transactions” if you want to individual notifications of all test transactions
- Select “Live Transactions” if you want to individual receive notifications of all live transactions
- Enter the email address you want these Notifications sent to
- Click on the “ Update ” button.
- The original email address used to create the account is assigned at account creation time.
- Fraud alerts
- Login to the Admin System (top-right corner of www.telr.com)
- Go to the Security tab
- Under the Anti-Fraud Alerts section
- Enter the email address you want the Fraud Alert Notifications sent to
- Click on the “ Update ” button.
- The original email address used to create the account is assigned at account creation time.
- Transaction Exceptions
- Login to the Admin System (top-right corner of www.telr.com)
- Go to the Security tab
- Under the Anti-Fraud Alerts section
- Enter the email address you want the Fraud Alert Notifications sent to
- Click on the “ Update ” button.
- The original email address used to create the account is assigned at account creation time.
Remote integrations
Telr also provides a Remote API with full support for 3DSecure. Remote gives merchants the ability to capture cardholder data on their own systems and submit that data to the Gateway for authorisation.
The Remote API is not available as a standard integration method. Please contact [email protected] to request.
